Three Sisters High School athletes, along with a friend from Redmond, competed at the Nike U.S. U20 Nationals in the 4x400-meter relay on Saturday, June 15, at Hayward Field in Eugene, as part of a four-day event featuring athletes from throughout America. The public is invited to the first annual Black and White Spring flag football games slated for Wednesday, June 12, at Reed Stadium. Girls will play a “powderpuff” game starting at 6 p.m. followed by a boys flag football game featuring members of the Outlaws tackle football team at 7:30 p.m. Admission is $3 per person and additional donations will also be accepted. Juhree Kizziar, who has competed in the No. 1 varsity singles spot all four years at Sisters High School (SHS), has committed to play tennis for the George Fox University Bruins next year. Kizziar has lived in Sisters her whole life, but didn't pick up a tennis racket until seventh grade. The girls tennis squad took four players Juhree Kizziar and Katie Ryan (singles), and doubles duo Sophie Rush and Shae Wyland, to the state tennis championships held at the Oregon State Campus in Corvallis Thursday through Saturday, May 23-25. Sisters Varsity Baseball's playoff run ended on Friday with a 4-1 quarterfinals loss at Pleasant Hill. Senior Brody Fischer and junior Landen Scott hit first-inning singles but the Outlaw offense floundered, unable to convert scoring chances. Dominic Pulver was the lone player from the boys’ tennis squad to make it to the state championships held at Oregon State University Thursday through Saturday, May 23rd through the 25th. Seventeen teams were in attendance and, as the lone Outlaw player, Pulver took them to a tie with three other schools, Crook County, Nyssa, and Vale, for a fifth place finish. Coming into the 2024 lacrosse season the Sisters Outlaws lacrosse girls team was facing a challenge: Either don't have a lacrosse team, due to the lack of players, or figure out some way to combine with a neighboring program to complete a team. The Outlaws tennis team had two players, sophomores Dominic Pulver and Jack Murray, compete in the final two-day event of the Special District 4 Tournament, held at Prineville High School May 17–18. Up and downs, surprises, and close calls marked the two days of competition for the Sisters girls and boys at the OSAA State 3A Championships held May 16-17 at Hayward Field in Eugene. The Outlaws travelled to Florence, Oregon, on May 5-6-7 to compete in the 3A-2A-1A District Golf event, which is the way teams qualify for the Oregon State Golf Championships. The Outlaw Boys Golf team travelled to Bend Golf Club, on April 15, and for the first time in four years were able to post a team score with four players. Devin Coverdale carded a 94, Carson Bell 97, Weslee Owens 110, and Dillon Luddy shot a 111, for a team total of 412.
