The driver of a Redi-Mix cement truck escaped serious injury when his truck flipped over on Highway 20 at Paradise Alley east of Sisters on Tuesday, June 20.

According to Deschutes County Sheriff’s Office reports, 39-year-old David Brown of La Pine was driving the 1999 concrete mixer truck westbound on Highway 20 on Tuesday afternoon when the truck drifted off onto the shoulder of the road.

Brown reportedly overcorrected and the truck shot across the roadway, clipped a power pole and flipped onto its side, coming to rest well off the roadway. The mixer was detached from the truck, which was severely damaged.

According to the sheriff’s office, Brown reported only minor shoulder pain from the accident and refused treatment at the scene.

No other vehicles were involved and Brown was not cited.
