Daniel Shoop and Marjorie Madorin married July 25, 1942 in Queen City, Missouri.

They moved to Portland in September of that year to take part in the war effort. Dan and Marj were employed for a time at Pacific Chain where Marj became a Certified Welder, a "Rosie the Riveter." They raised their family in NE Portland and moved to Sisters upon retirement, where they resided for over 20 years.

They presently live in Canby.

The entire family, including children Kay and John McLaren, Karlyn and Bob Brune, and Daniel and Rhonda Shoop; grandchildren Cori, Kari, Shelley and Robert; and 7 great-grandchildren have planned a celebration in Central Oregon.

In total, the years of marriage represented by Dan and Marj and their children numbers 191, a statistic of which they are very proud.
