Long-time Sisters residents Eli and Kelly Pyke have just launched the public release of the trailer to their upcoming documentary film, "The Far Green Country," along with a crowdfunding campaign to provide the finances to finish off the film.

"The Far Green Country" is a documentary film about travel, national parks, living full-time on the road with a family, as well as deeper themes such as marriage, childbirth, and parenting.

Three years ago, while experiencing challenges in marriage after having their first child, Eli and Kelly needed a reset, so they moved out of their house and into a motorhome. This story chronicles over 10,000 miles, over 15 national parks, multiple breakdowns, and an immense amount of natural beauty. Ultimately, it is a story of hope, and inspiration to endure.

The trailer and crowdfunding campaign launched Sunday, March 25, on social media, and is "gaining incredible traction," according to the Pykes. The film is in the final stages of post-production and for those who pre-order on Indiegogo, they will have access to a pre-release version of the final film. The filmmakers may try the film festival circuit for another year, or just go straight to digital platforms like Amazon and iTunes, sometime in the fall of 2018.

Current information about "The Far Green Country" may be found at www.thefargreencountry.com. That will provide direct access to the crowdfunding campaign, the social media campaign, and a newsletter signup, as well as basic information about the film (trailer, poster, etc).

Eli and Kelly are long-time Sisters residents. Their company, Zion Pictures, is a video production company that has served many companies and individuals in the area for over 10 years.

"Many people dream of setting out on the road and traveling around the country - or the world," Eli said. "This film will provide just enough information and inspiration to either help someone do it themselves, or convince them it's not all it's cracked up to be.

"In this world where marriages fail at a 50 percent, where many of the struggles we go through as parents and couples go undiscussed, where phones, computers, and video games fill our view, this film offers a glimpse of hope to those considering divorce, offers the inspiration of an epic family roadtrip, and reminds us all of the beautiful and majestic world in which we live."
