VFW Post 8138, Sisters, presented the VFW Patriotic Arts Award to Alexandra (Lexie) Miller at the Sisters High School art classroom on Wednesday, May 18. Miller received a check in the amount of $400 for her first-place entry, which was a wooden carving depicting an eagle in flight in the form of a jet fighter. Alexandra’s art was inspired by her grandfather, who flew jet aircraft in the United States Air Force. Several family members attended the event.
